Spider veins are small, widened blood vessels close to the surface of the skin. They can look red, blue, or purple and often appear as fine lines or web-like patterns.
If you have larger, bulging veins or symptoms like swelling, heaviness, or pain, you may need a medical vein assessment—your consultation is the best place to determine the right next step.
Light/Laser-Based Vein Reduction (Including IPL)
Light- and laser-based treatments deliver targeted energy to the visible vessel, creating heat that helps damage and close the tiny vein so it can fade over time. This approach is commonly used for smaller veins, including facial vessels.

Sclerotherapy (Injection-Based Treatment)
For many leg spider veins, sclerotherapy is a widely used, minimally invasive option. It involves injecting a solution into the targeted vein to close it off so it gradually fades.

2) Treatment Session
Your appointment is typically quick. Depending on the treatment selected, you may feel brief warmth or a snapping sensation. For comfort, topical numbing may be used when appropriate.
3) Results & Timing
Some veins may look lighter quickly, while others fade gradually. For laser-based treatments, larger spider veins can take one to three months to fade and multiple sessions may be needed.
(If sclerotherapy is performed, results for spider veins are often seen in 3–6 weeks, with larger veins taking longer.)
Aftercare (General Guidance)
After treatment, you may have temporary redness, mild swelling, or sensitivity. Your provider will give you specific instructions based on your treatment type. If leg veins are treated using sclerotherapy, compression stockings are commonly used to support healing.
