How Does Body Scarring Develop In An Individual?

Scarring is a regular aspect of recovery from an accident. Understanding the healing process of your skin is helpful for figuring out how scars develop and how to prevent them. Every body has a different way of mending scar tissue. Scars and keloids are formed in stages:

  • Hemostasis is the initial phase; the body sends platelets to stop blood loss. Which clump together to heal the wound and form scars on the surrounding skin.
  • Then inflammation follows. As white blood cells enter the region to combat bacteria, you may experience swelling, pain, and redness. This causes deeper scars and inflammation in the area. There may be a higher likelihood of scarring if more inflammation occurs during the healing process.
  • The following action is proliferation. The skin and blood vessels produce new cells, and you’ll see that the scab’s edges gradually converge in the middle, revealing fresh skin.
  • Maturation happens last when a scar is readily visible in the area after the wound is healed.

If your scars make you uncomfortable, connect with the professionals, as we help the scars fade away.

What Are The Different Types Of Scars?

Scars can be formed in different types, including:

  1. Keloid scar – Keloid scars are a result of the healing process being too hasty. Surgery to remove the scar, laser resurfacing, cosmetic surgery, silicone gel sheeting, or silicone sheets to flatten the scars are all forms of treatment.
  2. Contracture scar – Contracture scars develop on the skin if you have had burns on your skin. The skin becomes tighter, which may limit your mobility. Scars from contractures that could harm nerves and muscles on a deeper level.
  3. Hypertrophic scar – Although they resemble keloids and are elevated, hypertrophic scars do not extend past the area of the injury. Their treatment process includes – steroid injections and silicone sheets to flatten the scar.
  4. Acne scar – Bad acne often leaves many small scars on the face and affected area. Acne scars vary in shapes and sizes, from deep pits to waves and angular scars. The types of sunken scars you have will determine the available treatments.
