Treatment Pricing
- Microneedling: $350 per session
Microneedling Edmonton has become one of the top requested procedures here at Encore Medical Rejuvenation. With this minimally invasive procedure, patients experience increased collagen and elastin production, reduced stretch marks, and reduced acne scarring. Fine lines and wrinkles also become less visible as the procedure causes skin tightening and a more even skin tone.
For many, Microneedling is ideal as the healing time is much less than chemical peels while patients are still able to achieve desired results. Many people are unaware of how unique and simple the microneedling process is when done by a licensed professional. At Encore Medical Rejuvenation, you never have to worry about the professionalism or safety of this procedure. Our technicians are fully trained and licensed and use only the highest-quality, sterilized tools for every procedure.

How Does Microneedling Work?
The microneedling procedure begins with the patient having a topical numbing cream applied over the entire face. Once the cream has had enough time to become effective and the patient is ready, the microneedling tool is methodically administered across the face. The tool itself is rounded and lined with tiny needles, creating small punctures in the skin. This naturally stimulates collagen production.
Although not an incredibly invasive procedure, the numbing cream is applied so the patient will only feel pressure but no pain. As the process continues, the tiny punctures created heal relatively quickly. The punctures are rarely enough to draw blood but are enough to stimulate the body’s defenses, stimulating cell proliferation and collagen and elastin production. Because of this, some refer to this type of procedure as collagen induction therapy. This advanced skin treatment targets common signs of aging, and patients can expect a session time of between 20-45 minutes.

What are the Benefits and Side Effects of Microneedling?
Microneedling has many benefits. First and foremost, it is a natural procedure. There is no chemical being applied, such as with a chemical peel, and nothing being injected into the skin to achieve a more youthful appearance, such as with Botox®. There is no downtime. While the face may appear a bit redder and potentially have a few tiny scabs post-procedure, it is nothing substantial and should not interfere with the patient’s daily life.
The only downfall of microneedling is that it takes multiple sessions to see the full results of the procedure. This process is one where the body itself is being stimulated into creating new collagen, thus reducing fine lines and increasing the youthful glow. Because of this, how many treatments are needed depends on the individual. On average, around 4-6 treatments are needed for patients to really begin to see the results in the way they desire.

Micro-needling is a procedure that many feel they can do on their own without the assistance of a professional. Be cautioned as this is not recommended. First, the needle size used in a professional environment will be much smaller and more precise than any you can get elsewhere. Over the counter equipment has larger, duller needles and does not penetrate the skin in the same way professional treatments can. Professional tools are designed more efficiently and deliberately to complete the task correctly and safely.
Doing it yourself can cause scarring and has a high probability of infection. Micro-needling tools must be thoroughly sterilized, or they can cause bacterial infections. The process is, after all, creating small holes in the skin, allowing an entry point for bacteria. When choosing a professional for micro needling, choose a professional location with highly trained staff. When you arrive at Encore Medical Rejuvenation, the treatment area will be evaluated, and a customized treatment plan will be created.
