Almost every woman understands the frustration of trying to evenly apply eyebrow makeup to create a full, flawless look. The time spent, the re-dos, and the daily differences in the look of your brows can start any day off on the wrong note. If you have ever wondered about microblading, this permanent makeup technique can be a gamechanger for your morning routine!

Cosmetic tattoos are not what most people assume, especially when it comes to microblading. The procedure is simple overall and generally painless, but the preparation for the procedure takes some time and know-how to do it right. It is essential to be cautious of who you trust to complete your microblading treatment. At Encore Medical Rejuvenation Medical Spa, our microblading technicians are trained, licensed estheticians who are highly skilled in this permanent makeup treatment, getting you the flawless results you crave.

What Is Microblading?

There are a few common types of permanent makeup treatments available at Encore Medical Rejuvenation. Our cosmetic tattoo services include:

  • Powder Ombre Brows
  • Microblading
  • Eyeliner Micropigmentation
  • Lip Blush

One of the most common questions we hear is, “What is the difference between Powder Ombre Brows and Microblading?” Powder brows are applied with a machine. This procedure will give a much fuller, natural look to the brow. The technique used is great for any skin type and is typically less invasive than microblading. Microblading is a procedure where small scratches are created and filled with pigment. This process creates the look of tiny hair strokes.  This process may not be as effective on individuals with oily skin but gives a natural, shaped look to the brow.

What to Expect During a Microblading Edmonton Treatment

The reason we recommend choosing a licensed esthetician for your microblading Edmonton treatment has to do with how technical the process of microblading is when done well!

At the start of the treatment, the esthetician will clean the area and typically apply a local numbing cream to help the client stay relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure.

Then, time is spent with the client measuring and marking the brow line to get the eyebrow shaping just right in preparation for the treatment. The client’s input is essential in this stage as this procedure is semipermanent and on the face. The outlined area is where the procedure occurs, and the pigmentation will be applied.

Once the brows have been planned out and marked properly, hair-like strokes are used to create fine lines that mimic natural hair. This process may sound painful, but due to the use of the numbing agent, most clients remain quite comfortable throughout the process.

After the procedure has been completed, it will need time to heal like any other type of tattoo. During the healing process, clients can expect minimal pain and slight itchiness as the scratches heal. It can take up to two weeks before the brows have fully healed. During this process, especially in the first week or so, many clients become nervous at the darkness of the brows. Don’t worry! Brows lighten as they heal, giving you the natural, flawless look you desire. Be sure to follow the after instructions for caring for your newly microbladed brows, as proper care will yield a better result.

To ensure your brows are perfect, clients will need to return 4-8 weeks after the first session for a touch-up appointment. During this session, our esthetician will fill in any sparse areas and touch up any areas needed.
